Research notes

This is the British filing of the cut-pile hand tool that the database already holds as US2605727A (pat-us2605727a). Family members: FR1001038A ("Outil à main pour la fabrication de carpettes, tapis et articles analogues à poils coupés", which names Hurley as inventor) and BE492654A. It is classed D05C15/06, and its keywords (scissors, needle, cam, pins) suggest a needle with a built-in cutter. It shows that American hand cut-pile tools were being patented in Europe by 1948–51. Verified Oct 2026 by web search only. patents.google.com and Espacenet could not be opened from the sandbox, so I did not read the document itself. Dates and the inventor come from Google Patents snippets for GB663196A, BE492654A and FR1001038A. Research note (Oct 2026): found through search results; the patent document itself wasn't opened. The Patent drawings job fetches the document from Google Patents; if drawings appear on this record, the number is confirmed.
