Research notes

Research proposal, November 1957, by Ernest Dichter's Institute for Motivational Research, associated with E.I. du Pont de Nemours & Company; 1 letter (30 p.). A companion to the Dichter proposal 954A (1957-10) and report 954C (1958-07) already in the database; this one addresses nylon carpeting acceptance among distributors, buyers and retailers rather than consumers. Why it matters: Nylon chapter: shows DuPont commissioning trade-side research on nylon carpet in late 1957, just as carpet nylon (BCF/"501") was being launched. Found: Hagley Digital Archives, search "nylon carpet", 2026-10-28.
