Research notes

Single-needle machine that punched loops of thick yarn through a backing. Moench patented a multi-needle version, and the patent was cited in improvement patents as late as 1980. Named ASME Historic Mechanical Engineering Landmark no. 266 on 31 July 2018. ASME credits Moench with the first machine; Dalton accounts credit Looper. Find the patent number. Patent number still not found (ASME sources say both "1928 patent" and "issued 1934").
