Research notes
"boden wand decke" quoting its own September 1959 issue. Names the three German producers: Tuftex (Hameln), Tufton (Emsdetten), Dura Tufting GmbH (Fulda). Dura was founded three years earlier (→1956), ~DM 15 million turnover, planning to double, positioning itself as Europe's largest tufting operation. None of this appears in the Anglophone record. Citation check (Oct 2026, from search results; pages not opened): confirmed. Quote, three firms (Tuftex Hameln, Tufton Emsdetten, Dura Tufting GmbH Fulda 'vor drei Jahren gegründet') and ~DM 15 million turnover are confirmed. Extra detail: after 'gut drei Jahren' of industrial use, tufting had 10–15% of West German textile floor-covering output. NOT seen (the snippet was cut off): 'planning to double' and 'Europe's largest tufting operation'. Note: FuldaWiki says Christian Wirth founded Dura in 1955 and was first to bring tufting from the USA to Europe, a one-year discrepancy.
