Research notes
《天津纺织工业志》, 《北京工业志·燕山石化志》, 《中国轻工业年鉴》 (early 1980s). These should name the first tufting machine imported into China, the vendor and the import approval. Print only, in Chinese libraries. Citation check (Oct 2026, from search results; pages not opened): partly confirmed. 《北京工业志·燕山石化志》 exists (The Paper's 地方文献 feature). I could not locate a catalogue record for 《天津纺织工业志》 under that title. 《中国轻工业年鉴》 is a real yearbook series, but no carpet content was verified. That these 'will name the first tufting machine imported' is speculation. A 2013 trade article suggests the first tufting machine import was in 1980, and the Yanshan profile names CMC, Tuftco and Cobble as tufting suppliers, which gives a lead to check in the Yanshan volume.
