Research notes
Founded by Bob Shaw, former CEO of Shaw Industries (see co-shaw), after leaving Shaw. Broke ground on a Calhoun plant in 2009, operating 2010, built around solution-dyed polyester ("PureColor"). Bought Dream Weaver Carpet, merged with J+J Flooring and bought assets of Beaulieu of America after its 2017 bankruptcy; about 12 plants, all in the Dalton area (2019). Why it matters: a 21st-century Dalton tufter founded by an industry pioneer; part of the shift from nylon to polyester. Dates: 2009 (company, FCW 2019) vs 2010 (FCW 2017).
