Research notes

National coverage of the north Georgia bedspread boom at its height. Hamilton was later executive secretary of the Tufted Textile Manufacturers Association (Deaton interviewed him in 1972). See also his "Bedspreads Are Big Business", Christian Science Monitor, 15 March 1941, pp. 5, 15. Access (checked Oct 2026): the Internet Archive holds 1941 Reader's Digest volumes from microfilm, but the April issue wasn't found by search; libraries hold bound volumes. Cited in Deaton, Bedspreads to Broadloom (1993), bibliography pp. 209–217 (transcribed in research/deaton-sources.md).
